Time with Milo

Milo and I spent a couple afternoons playing together - here are some pictures.
Digging in the sand at the park.

Sharing sticks at the park.

Eating dinner outside.

Playing in the pool at Milo's house!

What a Weekend!

We had so much fun this weekend. Saturday morning Mommy and I went to the Farmer's Market up the street. We saw some friends there, and there were a lot of other kids there too. I enjoyed watching them and watching the two people play live music (mom said the instruments were called accordians). I really liked the sound they made, and I even danced just a little bit (although I was a little shy to dance in front of all the people). Then Dad, Mom, and I went on a bike ride to have a picnic with some friends from church. I ate SO many strawberries!

Yesterday we went to church and I played with Danny during the service. I even shared my bagel with him. We watched Mom and Dad sing a song together up front. After church, Daddy surprised Mom with some flowers, and I sang her my version of a Happy Mother's Day song.

After a nap, Mom and I took a walk around the block (and I rode on my bike part of the way), then planted some lettuce together in the back yard.
Today we went to the zoo (second time this weekend!) and even ate lunch together there. Here's me transferring my gymnastics skills over to the bike racks at the zoo.
This afternoon I had my gymnastics class. Mommy said she was proud of me because I am a fast learner and do so well with all the gymnastics. I like the trampoline (they call it the Tumble Track) the best. In the middle of jumping down the trampoline tumble track, I stopped, looked at Mom and said "Gymnashiks", then kept jumping. That made mom laugh.

To finish off the weekend I had blackberries for dessert tonight. They are really funny little fruits. You should try them.

My talent

We had our second annual Talentless Show, and I wanted to share my talent on my blog...

Two

Well, I'm not one anymore, but I'm going to keep the title of my blog the same. A lot has happened in the last two months! I've been chatting away, running around, playing outside in the warm weather, and being all around cute.
I'll get to the last two months, but I want to talk about today. Mom and I spent the morning running errands (I just sang most of the time, so it was good). Then she took me out for lunch (after we went to the post office and the man gave me a coloring book; then bought a cantelope). After my nap, we went to my first gymnastics class! It was SO much fun - I did a somersault, swung on hanging rings, jumped on a trampoline, did a head stand, and giggled and smiled all afternoon. Then we went to my friend Milo's house, because I REALLY wanted to see him (I cried when Mom told me he wasn't going to be at gymnastics). Then, I got to eat strawberries and cantelope for dinner. So, overall it was a good day. I'm really excited that Milo and I will be in the same gymnastics class starting next week.
Okay - the last two months. Here are a few pictures to recap...

Sam, Codrut and I in my crib when they came over to play. Mathis was in there too at one point!

Puss and I enjoying our lunch together outside on an unseasonably warm February day.

Milo and I doing some fingerpainting.

Outside with Great-Grandpop and Great-Grandmom Miller on my 2nd birthday.

Dad and I packing up to go on spring break! He's so silly.

Daddy and me at the beach on Sanibel Island FL.

Mommy and me looking at the Cherry Blossoms down on the Tidal Basin (I REALLY wanted to jump in the water!).

Mommy and me out back enjoying the warm weather last week.

Truck at the Park

Here are two pictures of me playing on the truck at the playground. One is of me last year and one is of me this year. Can you guess which is which?

Sad about the computer

We're all kind of sad about our computer. It broke a few months ago and we lost a lot of our pictures on it. But now we have it fixed, so hopefully I'll be able to put some more videos and pictures from our other camera on the blog when we get it hooked up again.

ABC 123

Well, I've learned a few new things since I last wrote. Some new songs. I can sing some of Ring around the Rosie, which I call "Assis (ashes)", and some of the alphabet song "A..B..C...A..B..C...X!!" I've also learned to count - but I'm not always sure of the order of the numbers. Mom caught me the other day trying. I said, "....2...3....6...7...8...3". I don't think it was quite right, but she said "Good job!".

Snow in my yard

The weather has been really funny this past week. We had snow, then it was warm and I didn't have to wear a big coat outside, now it's cold again. I like going outside no matter what, though. Our front yard was white one day! The top two pictures are of me out front. Dad took them with his phone.
I really like to wear hats now too, and I've gotten creative. Mom made this as a purse, but when I put it on my head, she said I could have it as my own hat. It fits! I also enjoy wearing mom and dad's hats around the house.

Birthdays!

I didn't realize birthdays were so much fun! There's cake, candles, singing, dinner with friends, going to the aquarium, more singing, some dancing, and lots of cards to open! And it wasn't even MY birthday! Mom and Dad had their birthdays last week, and they said that mine is coming up soon. I can't wait! I hope I have all of those things on my birthday.
Here's a picture of Mom, Grandmom, Grandpop, and me at the Baltimore aquarium. We're standing in the jaws of a prehistoric shark (a megalodon!).

COLD!

It's not as cold as Minnesota (where we only went outside for a little bit at a time to go snowshoeing and sledding on the tobogan - I call it the "bogan"), but it is cold! It's so cold that I actually keep my gloves on when I go outside. Even when I want to pick something up (except in this picture).

Bugs and Blue Gowns

The doctor told Mommy that I have a bug in my stomach! I don't feel it in my stomach, but I feel like it's trying to get out! A few days ago, Mommy got worried because I was very very sleepy and didn't want to drink anything. So she took me to the doctor. They gave me a bracelet and a new blue gown. They put lots of things on me and listened. I had to be very quiet. They also gave me a lot of yummy syrup in a tube (they called it medicine... I call it "menin"). I'm feeling a lot better now, but now the bug is in Daddy's belly. Poor Daddy. I hope no one else gets the bug in their belly.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! It's been a good year so far. I've been busy, so I haven't written in awhile. Plus, Mom and Dad's computer broke, so I haven't been able to put any pictures on the blog. Since I last wrote, I saw ALL of my cousins, ALL of my aunts and uncles, ALL of my Grandparents, and I took a plane ride too! I was in Virginia, New York, and Minnesota.
I saw Santa in my neighborhood. I didn't really look at him but I did let him come over and give me a present. Mom took a picture on her phone.
I've also been talking a lot more! Wow - it's really fun. I've started putting some words together too! I tell Mom and Dad to "sit down" and "stand up". I tell Mom and Dad when people are napping ("Isaiah. Nap." "Liam. Nap."), and I can tell Mom and Dad what we're all wearing "Mommy hat." "Daddy coke (coat)." "Lolo (Lauren) boots". My newest word is "broke" (My crayons, the cup, the chair all broke this week).
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Here are a few of my New Year's resolutions:
1. Learn how to jump
2. Talk more
3. Dance more
4. Eat more peanut butter

I'll write again soon!

Grand Camp!

This is my journal from last week at Grand Camp. Mommy was in San Francisco for a conference, and Daddy was studying for his tests, so I spent the whole week with Grandmom and Grandpop Miller in Pennsylvania! These are the notes and pictures I sent to Mom and Dad through email every day.

Hi Mommy and Daddy ~
I am at Grand Camp and Grandpop is giving me my first piano lesson. Love ~ Lauren

Hi Mommy and Daddy ~
This is a picture of me with my new friend, Wade, on the train at Lititz Springs Park. It was cold, but we had fun playing and swinging and sliding together. I love you. Hugs ~ Lauren

Hi Mommy and Daddy ~
What a fun day I had today. Grandmom and Grandpop took me to a place called the Hands On House. There were lots of fun things to do there and there were lots of little kids too. I'm sending you a picture from the dress up room. Do you like my ensemble? I'm being a very good girl for Grandmom and Grandpop. I think we're going to Hershey tomorrow. Yippee!
I love you both very much ~ Lauren

Hi Mommy and Daddy ~
Santa flew into the Lancaster Airport in a little airplane and I watched him land and come in to see me (and a thousand other kids). He read us a story and we had cookies and orange juice and then I got a chance to meet him. I found out that I only like him from afar. On Christmas, I hope he doesn't remember that I screamed at him. I love you both very much. Hugs ~ Lauren
P.S. I'm wearing reindeer antlers.

Hi Mommy and Daddy ~
This morning, Grandpop, Grandmom and I went to church. It was snowing outside and it was very cold, but we still went. I played in the nursery and had lots of fun there. I went into church when Grandpop and Grandmom took communion and some man named Pastor Dave put his hand on my head. I wonder why. I love you two very much. See you on Tuesday.
Lots and lots of love ~ Lauren

Hi Mommy and Daddy ~
I can't wait to see both of you tomorrow. I have been a very good girl and have had lots of fun at Grand Camp. Here is one more picture of me that was taken when we went to the play gym at Park City. I love you. Hugs and kisses ~ Lauren

Doya

It's been over a month since I last wrote! I've been busy... but I'll write about all of that later. This morning, Mom and I went to the library for story time. It was fun and there were A LOT of kids there today! We saw a little girl Adler and her mommy Tess, that Mom says I know from the park. It was fun to watch her dance and sing, but I don't remember her from the park. Maybe I'll see her again, then I'll remember her.
Before story time, we were looking at the books, and I picked up a book and saw a funny green animal/person on the front. At first I said "puppy", because I thought it was a puppy. Then I said, "moo", because I thought it might be a cow. I wasn't sure, so I looked to Mom for help. She couldn't see the picture, because it was facing me. Then I looked back at it, and I made a funny face, because I didn't know what it was. So, I said "woof", then completely confused, I looked back to Mom. She looked at the book and said, "Oh, that's Yoda". So I said "Doya". I think I said it wrong.

In my hands

My two favorite things to carry around are coins and rocks. My second favorites are crayons and acorns.

Bangs

I got my first haircut today.
Mom finally gave in and cut my bangs. I like it - now I don't have to wear those barrettes all the time!
Mom saved the hair that she cut in a little silver box that says "First Curl". It's not really a first curl - it's just some of my bangs.

Crayons, Cows, and the Green Festival

On Friday night after Mom and Dad picked me up from Mimi's house, we went to dinner at Tonic with Aimee and Barrett. They used to have paper covering the tables and crayons so I could draw, but they changed it. So, before dinner, Mom and I walked to the Dollar Star and bought crayons and a coloring book. I had fun drawing and holding my new crayons, and dipping everything in the mustard.

On Saturday, Mom and I went to the Zoo in the morning and saw Tulip and Rose the cows running! They make a lot of noise when they run. After my nap, we went rollerblading in the park (Mom pushed me - I rode in my stroller and ate snacks).

This morning was church, then we went to the Green Festival in the afternoon with Jess, Ariel, Christian and Savannah. It was great!
Mom was laughing because I interrupted a game of "bean bag toss" by throwing away my milk cup in the milk jug (that was being used for the bean bag toss). I thought it was a trash can!

We ate lots of yummy snacks there, and I got to run around with Christian and Savannah. We also watched a fun lady sing songs. She called herself Mother Earth.
This is the lady that sang songs and called herself Mother Earth. I'm sitting in the stroller on the left.

This is Savannah after she got her face painted like a butterfly. I couldn't stop looking at her and smiling!

Baby Lolo

I started saying my name a couple weeks ago. This is what it sounds like.

I also have some other new words that I can say. They are Claudia ("Clala"), cloud, thank you ("da doo"), light, sit down, nap ("nat"), Here you go ("hee doe") and elk ("eck"). But I understand so much more than I can say.

No new bed

Since my last post where I said I climbed out of my crib (and pack n' play), I have not figured out how to replicate the steps I took to do it that first time. So, Mom and Dad are holding off on the big girl bed for now. And I think they're keeping a close eye on me!

Obama!
