Tutoring Dad

Sometimes I like to help Dad study. But mostly I just like to eat his note cards. See me pointing out the right answer with my pen.

Resistance

I tend to like the path of most resistance. I don't know what that means yet, but that's what Mom and Dad say about me. For example, if I'm in a really big room and a chair is sitting in the middle of it, I'll crawl, crawl, crawl toward it, then instead of crawling around it, I'll climb up and over the rungs, through the chair, and out the other side. I do the same with my stroller. It's more fun that way.

Balloon

I had a really fun weekend! I got a balloon at the Mt.Pleasant festival we went to (dad accidentally popped it when we got home). Went to church, the Farmer's Market and the zoo yesterday! Mom and Dad carried me on the trail for awhile, then I just wanted to get down and practice walking again. Dad let me walk all over the grass. It felt good on my bare feet. Today Milo came over to play in the morning. He can walk now!

Dad's Shoulders

April 24, 2008
Library for story and song time in the morning, afternoon with Devora while Mom was at work and Dad was at school, then to the zoo in the evening. Here's me riding on Dad's shoulders! I also got to ride on the bear statue, and the last picture is me trying to step off the curb and walk in the street on our way home from the zoo.

My teeth

I've found a new use for my teeth - opening containers. My sippy cup lid, tupperware lids, the caps on the Desitin, lotion bottles...the list goes on.

Range of Emotions

This may be long, but Mom took a video of me during lunch, and I wanted to show you my range of emotions within less than a minute's time. I just didn't feel like eating, that's all.
Had a fun day, though. Swimming and the zoo. Oh, and animal crackers.

Bear Crawl

This is my bear crawl. Sorry for the angle, just wanted to show you how I keep from hurting my knees on the pavement.

Rain Rain Go Away

Wow - it just won't stop raining. Mom took me to the bead store and grocery store today while it rained, then after my nap we went to the National Building Museum. They have a really fun play area there. I pushed trucks around and hammered blocks into the floor (not really - just pretend). See if you can spot me in this picture, crawling around the atrium of the museum (it's HUGE in there!).

When we were walking home, a man in the metro serenaded me with his saxophone. He played "Jesus Loves Me". I was riding on mom's back. We stopped and listened as he played. It was really pretty.

Cuddlebugs

I haven't blogged all week! Dad got sick this week, but luckily Mom and I didn't. But I did get shots and blood drawn this week. That kind of pinched. Mom and I took a long walk that day on the National Mall, then to the doctor and back home. On Thursday I went to Milo's house and went to the park. He got his shots on Wednesday too. I was with Devora and Timmy today, had dinner with Dad, then walked around the yard with Mom. I touched all the buttercups, then I got a bath. I'm getting my eighth tooth and I'm really enjoying eating crackers now that I have a lot of front teeth! Here's a picture of me and mom snuggling tonight after exploring the yard. Good night!

Dogs

Even though my Mom and Dad are cat people, I've started to like dogs. I see a lot of them when we are out for walks, and I can now say "DAW!". Sometimes I also growl - it makes the dogs pay more attention to me. Last week I met two dogs in the neighborhood; one was named "Crazy Daisy" (she was a big dog), and the other was "Miss Bow" (she was the tiniest dog I'd ever seen. She looked like a cat). Miss Leah's dog, Spike, is the only dog I've ever touched. He licked me on the face. That shocked me a little bit. Here's a picture of me and Spike. Yesterday I met a new dog named "Doogie". Dogs have funny names.

Chasing Liam...

I went to my cousin Sean's 5th birthday party today. I wore my new shoes. It was a pirate theme, and everyone was calling my little cousin Liam and me "pirate babies". Here's a picture of Sean making a treasure chest.

Here's me in my pirate garb.

The first video is of me scaring Liam! (it gets funnier and funnier the more you watch it). The second video is of Liam and me cruising around the party.

After the party, Mom and I went out to dinner with Grandpop and Grandmom. Yummy Italian bread! Dad read me "On the Day you were Born" when we got home. Good night!

Almost 80 degrees!

Today was a beautiful day and I got to wear short sleeves, shorts, and no shoes! We went to the co-op this morning, then to the zoo to see my favorites. Here I am contemplating the prairie dogs. They're so cute. We got caught in the rain, which was fun - I was splashing the water on the tray of my stroller. My hair and toes got wet!

Puss Blanco and Me coexisting (notice the Jacob's ladder present that uncle Kevin made me in my right hand!)

I've recently learned to share (or atleast hold things up to people like I'm going to give them to them). This includes my food, toys, pieces of mulch, the remote, etc. Here's me "sharing" a piece of cereal.

No reaction from the cat.

We tried to go swimming today but the rec center was closed because of a gas leak. So we went to the garden shop instead and bought some flowers and a plant. Mom bought me a flower. Here's a picture of me with it.

Earlier today I tried to get Puss Blanco to give me a reaction, but it didn't work. I'm 13 months old today.

My baptism

Today is the one year anniversary of my baptism. I'm including a picture of me from that day. I was tiny back then!
I was with Devora and Timmy for most of the day today, then when mom and dad came home we ate dinner. We danced a lot after dinner! I've learned how to turn the volume up and down on the stereo. I love doing that!

Going Under

I've been feeling a little under the weather yesterday and today, so I've been sleeping a lot. Not much to report, so I'm going to include a couple videos. First is of me going under the water with dad (mom finally edited the video!) and second is of me and my friend Tanzie in Virginia Beach (her mom and my mom were friends in high school).

Water Break

I was out on the trail today with mom. I was on the lookout for birds and squirrels. One squirrel I was watching started to scratch it's ear, which made me laugh. Then it was eating something - mom said it looked like how I eat Cheerios - with two hands, nibbling a little off at a time. There weren't many people out there - I think because it was cloudy and had rained. But we did run into our friend Bella. The picture is of when we stopped to drink some water. I fell asleep after that. I was pretty tired from the weekend. Friday night was Kelly's hootenanny (I'd never been to a hootenanny!) And last night I was with Aimee and Barrett while mom and dad were at a dinner and dance at dad's school. I had a great time! Their friends were there with their little girl - so we played and played. Right now I'm swinging mom around in the computer chair while she types this for me.

These are my cousins Isaiah, Liam, and Sean. I really love them.

Parks and Pools

Went to the park again yesterday. Dad met us there on his way home from school. I had to show off for him and show him how I could go down the slide just holding his one finger. I think he was impressed. Then he pushed me on the swing for a long time - I usually start shaking after a minute or two, but that didn't happen yesterday!
Today mom and I went swimming. I'm including a picture of me in my new swimsuit that Devora - my babysitter - gave me for my first birthday. You can see the front and the back. It's very cute. I took a long nap this afternoon. Swimming always wears me out. Got an email from uncle Kevin today. He's on Kissimmee river. That's a fun word. Kissimmee. I'm going to try to say that one next, after I get "kitty" down.
